"Waiting" music video from Scarlet Ayliz
.
“Her music could change radio,” says an executive at iHeart Radio after hearing Scarlet's song “Waiting,” which she wrote with BTS “Butter” co-writer Stephen Kirk. Scarlet’s vocal tone, range and power will lead music into new territory.
Struggling to find her place, Scarlet gravitated to music as a means of self-expression and communication. Whether someone loved her or hated her, trusted her or broke her trust, from an early age everyone was drawn to her expressive stage performances. Audiences have always been captivated by her presence.
Scarlet attended a performing arts school during her middle and high school years. Scarlet’s education was more about understanding people’s different perspectives, and less about understanding math, science and English. Connecting to people’s frustrations, anxieties and challenges influences her art as a musician.
Always ready to take risks, at age fourteen, Scarlet snuck out of the house and recorded her first song at Avery on the Beat's studio. The following month, she got her first professional gig when she joined a local touring band. The songs which had been filling up her head now found an outlet. The mix of genres she grew up around started taking shape as something personal.
"For as long as I can remember, my mind was full of music I created, with a full band, not just a melody, or a verse or with a piano, but a full band. I now had this way of getting it done. So all of these rock influences were combining with R&B and jazz and pop stuff that was coming out in a melody, harmony or beat, and this mix like started hitting me. It made me wanna go even further with my dream.”
At age fifteen, Scarlet attended IMTA’s New York convention. By the end of the week, she had racked up a fair share of medals, and was invited to close out the gala with her rendition of Radiohead’s “Creep.” She continued to record songs as well, and at sixteen, she found herself taking trips to Nashville to record with Grammy award winning producer Aaron Pearce.
American Idol scouted her to appear on the show and she got her first Golden Ticket for season 19, but her family insisted that she finish high school strong and she did not go to Hollywood Week. She continued to write and record and started to get interest from producers in Los Angeles. American Idol came calling again for season 20, and having finished school, Scarlet got her second Golden Ticket. This time she went to Hollywood Week and made it all the way to the semi-finals.
Scarlet has been working with top producers in LA and her artistic vision has become a reality. Keep following her and get ready because you are about to be part of the most creative explosion music has seen in a long time.
Scarlet be a beast low-key~

Music and Poetry Synchronized (MAPS) teaches middle and high school students of differing races, classes, cultures and genders to write poetry and music in preparation for a public concert at the end of the program term. Each MAPS class takes place through a partnership with two different schools in two different states and runs throughout a full year. In the fall semester, English students from one school create poetry from their life stories. In the spring, those poems are then sent to the partner school, where music students spend the semester turning them into heartfelt original pieces of music. Both schools participate in creating visual art inspired by the poetry and music.

Music is a universal language that unites disparate peoples through shared cultural norms, rituals and expression. Through music, people tap into their ancestral roots to celebrate life’s cycles, express emotion, create culture and communicate with spirit. Concurrently, combining poetry, music and visual arts serves as a language that bridges between people who otherwise would have a hard time communicating. People from diverse backgrounds can unite by sharing a common experience even though their realities might be dramatically different from one another.
